Treatments

Osteopathy

An approach tailored to your circumstances, needs and goals, Osteopathic treatment combines joint mobilisation, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation, so you’ll be supported through your recovery both inside and outside the treatment room. Osteopathy is suitable for a wide range of issues including musculoskeletal pain, acute injuries, neuralgia, chronic pain, tension headaches and joint pain.

Following assessment and diagnosis, treatment will address your symptoms as well as considering your general health, your body’s patterns of movement and the activities you do, to help you get back to feeling to your best.

Relaxation / Deep Tissue Massage

Oncology Massage

Using a firm pressure that works into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, this treatment will target areas of tension and fatigue that may have built up through physical activity or the strains of daily life. Deep tissue massage can help improve blood flow to reduce tightess and help with mobility. I can provide a deeply relaxing full body treatment, or focus on the areas that need it most.

I’m qualified to provide treatment at every step following a cancer diagnosis, whether you are in active treatment, recovery or beyond.

Massage can help to positively effect sleep, alleviate some of the side effects of cancer treatment, and can be useful in helping regain mobility after surgery.

Medical/Western Acupuncture

This technique involves inserting very fine needles into the body to stimulate sensory nerves in the skin and muscle. This can effect endorphins and serotonin levels, relieving pain in areas of muscular discomfort.

I can include medical acupuncture as part of any Osteopathy or massage appointment when appropriate, so there is no need to book a separate appointment for this treatment.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a targeted, remedial treatment which will address a specific areas of tension and discomfort, improving blood flow and aiding recovery. It’s particularly useful if you are training regularly, increasing your usual training or have an event coming up. Expect a more active treatment session, where we work together using a range of stretching and mobilisation techniques. It’s best to allow at least five days between a sports massage and your marathon or other big event.
